A SNAPSHOT OF THE DAY

photos thanks to Anita, Simon and other volunteers

JUST SOME OF THE FEEDBACK WE RECEIVED

... Thank you so much for your bag of love which really lifted my spirits. What I loved most was the makeup... it helped hide my bruises....

-----

... Thanks to you lovely people, Santa was able to visit my children. Given what they've gone through, that was sensational...

-----

Sending through a huge thank you as we acknowledge the wonderful generosity of donors, volunteers, the Board members and the entire team at Impact for Women...
It was my an absolute delight to ensure these were equally distributed to our teams as they cater for their individual case load of families. The staff were both relived and excited to receive the bags on behalf of their clients.  As soon as they see the ‘red sea’ of bags they immediately say: ‘our Impact bags.’
I think the contents of the bags this year were the best ever, and we have certainly received a huge amount of feedback from our clients.  The household bags contained some excellent goods that could be passed on to women who need help with goods as they set up their new homes and we were very grateful for the toys too especially for the ‘littles.’

-----

... We had a mum at reception come to pick up her bags for Christmas.  She is a beautiful woman and a wonderful mum and so strong and confident now that she is safe.  The father of her children has recently been in court again and denied access for a further 2 years due to ongoing violence so that was a gift in itself.  When we gave her the gifts she was very overwhelmed and felt some of it could be shared around and given to someone else.  She was crying saying it was too much.  As I was at reception she asked permission for a hug.  It was more than evident that she was feeling overwhelmed.
This is only just one story out of so many.  If only you could be here to witness those encounters.  It really is a privilege to be able to play Santa to so many because of what you do and who you are.,,

-----

Kathy, thank you for making this happen.  Every year we are amazed at your networking that brings us to a supply of good quality gifts for our clients.  You make our job easier and clearly you make us look good. Thank you to Alan who keeps a keen eye over the finances as we are constantly recipients of your financial support, and to your board, volunteers and donors for supporting you in this work – we truly are grateful for the wise investment of your resources.

-----

We all get to make our mark on the world and in people’s live for the better – thank you for being champions of the cause of family violence and thank you for your individual impact in the lives of women and children who so desperately need it.

-----

More than 1100 women and children were helped by [name of Safe House redacted] this year - support that wouldn't be possible without the generosity and support of our donors and especially from impact for women.
That support means more women and children are safe from violence, more children are attending school, and more women are connected to employment and friendships. They are less fearful, and know they are not alone.
