Thanks to the generosity of Allison Monkhouse Brighton, for the next several years commencing in 2019, impact will offer Bursaries to children in Refuge needing to relocate schools to cover the costs of uniforms, textbooks, stationary and excursions.

​Does the application for a Bursary have to come via a Refuge or can an individual apply on her own behalf or on behalf of a friend?

ANSWER:
Yes. impact works at arm's distance from the women and children in crisis. This is to ensure that impact's practices are transparent, ethical and accountable.


QUESTION:
Who knows the identity of the children concerned?

ANSWER:
Only the staff at the Refuge. This is because impact takes confidentiality extremely seriously: as an organisation we need to know the 'story' but not the identity of the woman and her children. A summary of the 'stories' and expenses will be communicated to Allison Monkhouse in order for impact to be transparent, ethical and accountable to this generous donor.


QUESTION:
To whom will the the funds be dispersed? To the children's Mum, to the school or to the Refuge?

ANSWER:
The funds will be dispersed to the Refuge who will then pay for the items required. This, again, is to ensure impact's practices are transparent, ethical and accountable.
