Living with domestic violence is hard - as is trying to get out and actually getting out. Many people say that it's the hardest thing they've ever done but that their lives are so much better now.
The stories below are all true but the names have been changed. These people have told their stories in the hope that they will help others who are being abused.
Most of these stories are from women in heterosexual relationships, but some are from women in lesbian relationships and some are from men in heterosexual relationships.
